October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and BuyOnlineNow.com recognizes the progress being made towards finding a cure for this disease. That is why a portion of the profits for our Breast Cancer Awareness products goes towards Breast Cancer research. All of the products use the color pink to raise awareness and to help promote early detection of this horrible, but treatable, disease. BuyOnlineNow offers a wide selection of Breast Cancer Awareness products ranging from binders to name badges to exam gloves. One of my favorite products is the Post-it Pop-Up Notes Dispenser and Pen Set. This item is the perfect starter set to show your support for Breast Cancer Research. It’s great because it has the fun dispenser, four note pads and a pen! You’ll be highly fashionable keeping notes with this set.
I also really like the Day-Timer Pink Ribbon Organizer Starter Set, especially since it is black with a hint of pink (my favorite color combination). The pages feature a delicate pink and gray floral theme, and the snap-tab closure on the binder keeps the contents secure.
Everyone loves a good Sharpie marker, so why not stock up on the Sharpie Pink Ribbon Permanent Marker during Breast Cancer Awareness month! This marker has a nontoxic fade- and water-resistant ink and a fine tip. The quick-drying formula allows for a superior marking experience. This marker is permanent on most hard surfaces.
Be sure to stock up on your Breast Cancer Awareness items today! Please help us raise awareness to the dangers of Breast Cancer. “The ‘Post-it Note Wars’ rage in Paris”. This was a recent headline on CNN. Sounds a little bit strange, doesn’t it? But, as CNN explains, it’s real. “As fears of a euro meltdown continue apace, a guerilla war of Post-it note art has broken out in office spaces across corporate Paris.” A few months ago, employees at the French computer gaming company Ubisoft, put up a Post-it note image from the 1980s classic “Space Invaders” on the window. A war was born. The next day, BNP (the largest bank in France, just across the way from Ubisoft) drew a Pac-Man. And so began La guerre des Post-it (the Post-it wars). The Post-it art soon swept across offices in the business district, with images ranging from a simple Tweety Bird or Bart Simpson, to seven-story high, computer-designed plans using thousands of Post-it notes. To see a large collection of these Post-it war creations, visit PostItWar.com.
Thanks to CNN for the interesting story! |

Have you checked out the new line of Pilot FriXion pens and highlighters? They are a new line of erasable pens, but they’re so much more than that. These pens erase with the friction of the eraser on the pen OR with heat! My co-worker was told a story of a girl who had written a 20 page essay with one of the Pilot FriXion pens, and she left it on the dashboard of her car. You can see where this is going – the car heated up in the sun, and the ink disappeared! Well, thankfully, another neat aspect to this ink is that it comes back when exposed to cold temperatures. She was able to put it in the freezer for awhile and prove to her teacher that she had completed her assignment. I wasa little skeptical of this, so I decided to put the pens to the test, to prove to myself and all of you, that it actually works like this! In the image below, you will see that I wrote the top section with the Pilot FriXion Roller Ball Point Black Pen, the middle section with the Pilot FriXion Erasable Ballpoint Blue Gel Pen, and the bottom section I wrote with a regular pen and highlighted it with the Pilot FriXion Lite Erasable Yellow Highlighter.
In this video, I used my blow dryer to heat up the ink and see how it disappeared. To my surprise, it worked very easily!
This picture shows the page after I have finished heating up the ink. As you can see, all but just a tiny bit of the blue ink and just a couple spots of the highlighter disappeared. Using the eraser on the pen removed this ink, I just don't have a picture of it.
This image shows the ink after I had it in the freezer to cool it down. As you can see, the ink came back clearly enough to read. However, the blue ink is darker than the black ink. So keep that in mind if you're writing a long paper with these pens - maybe use the blue pen just to be safe! Even the highlighter ink came back perfectly!
I am very impressed with these pens. Not only did they hold up to the disappearing and reappearing standard, but they write very smoothly and are comfortable in my hand. The highlighter works great also! Be sure to check out our selection - if you can't decide on just one, don't worry, get the assorted pack of 8 colors! |

At BON, we recently had a chance to learn more about Carl Punches and Trimmers and see the products in action when a couple of representatives came to visit a few weeks ago.
The Carl XHC-2100N Heavy-Duty 2-Hole Punch has a 100-sheet capacity, built-in paper guide and strong handle grip. This hole punch has a strong handle grip that allows easy punching. This was one of the products shown in the demonstration, and we got the chance to try it myself. The Carl Representative handed me a large stack of paper (I was sure there were more than 100 sheets in the pile), and I was easily able to punch through all of them – I didn’t even break a sweat! I have to admit, I was really skeptical after being told that it was “really effortless” to punch through all that paper, but after doing it myself, I see that what they claim is true. Another great puncher is the Carl 40-Sheet HC-340 Heavy-Duty Three-Hole Punch. This punch has precision ground steel punch heads and a built-in paper guide. Don’t you hate when you’re punching a bunch of sheets of paper to put together in a binder, and once you get them in the binder they don’t fit? This drives me crazy! I remember getting so frustrated in college when I would have a ton of hand outs from my professors that I used my cheap three-hole punch on, and of course, they never lined up. Never underestimate the power of a paper guide. And of course, don’t forget to replace the punches as needed!
As I said earlier, we were also shown some Carl Trimmers along with the Punches. My favorite trimmer line was the Carl Green Machine Professional Rotary Trimmer. My favorite in this line is the beast of all trimmers, the DC-250N 25” Cutting Length Green Machine. This trimmer is the ideal choice for even the most demanding cutting project. This trimmer also includes a handy storage area that holds an extra straight and perforating blade as well as an additional cutting mat. Nothing beats a rotary trimmer. With the sturdy metal base and patented rail mechanism the paper is held firmly in place to ensure a precise cut. Maybe you don’t need such a heavy-duty trimmer. Try the RT-200N Trimmer with a 12” Cutting Length. The cutting is easy and accurate, thanks to the luminous paper guide made from light-harvesting acrylic. The calibrated sturdy metal base is great for repetitive cuts, and there is a handy compartment that stores extra blades and cutting mats. The stainless steel no-touch safety blade cuts standard paper, card stock, photos and plastic sheets. This trimmer is perfect for anyone on a budget! Be sure to keep some replacement blades and replacement cutting mats handy! |

The fluid in this spill-resistant bottle corrects ballpoint, felt tip, marker, roller ball and other hand-written errors. I think that one of my favorite parts about the New Year arriving is starting it with a fresh, clean calendar. Whether it’s a wall planner, desk calendar or a planner, I love picking out a new pattern, style or design. This is your last chance to save big on all 2010 Calendars now with the Calendar Sale, ending Friday. One of my favorite Desk Pad Calendars is the At-A-Glance Marbleized Monthly Desk Pad Calendar. This calendar not only has large spaces to write on each day, but also has a notes section on the right side of the page. The full year calendar on the bottom allows you to look ahead at future dates without having to flip the pages on the calendar. Also, the marbleized color adds a fun design to your desk top. There are a wide variety of Appointment Book Refills to choose from, but my personal favorite is the Day Runner Express Weekly Planning Pages Refill. I prefer the one week per two pages style because it allows me to see all of my appointments, meetings and projects that I have to do throughout the week. The weekly planning pages refill also has hourly appointment slots for each day. Maybe you’re someone who works on larger and lengthier projects. For you, the At-A-Glance 14 Month Reference Wall Calendar may be the best option. This calendar has 3 months per page and has large, easy to read numbers. This calendar allows you to set goals and project end dates and clearly display them as a bold reminder to you throughout the project. Enjoy this calendar knowing that it was printed on quality recycled paper with 30% post-consumer waste. |

Have you ever seen Catch Me If You Can? Remember the scene where Frank Abagnale Jr. washes the ink off the check? He makes it looks so easy, but when I watched it I assumed it was much more complicated than that. Well, it's not. Scary, right? Check washing is the process of erasing details from checks to allow them to be rewritten, usually for criminal purposes such as fraudulent withdrawal from the victim's bank account. The total amount of attempted check fraud against banks' deposit accounts reached an estimated $12.2 billion in 2006. Most of the attempts (92 percent) were caught by banks' prevention systems or measures before incurring any financial loss to the bank. In this video, Dr. Uni-Ball shows how and why it is so easy to wash the ink off of checks, IF you aren't using the correct pens.
But have no fear, BuyOnlineNow features a wide variety of Check Safe Pens from Uni-Ball, Pilot and Pentel. Thanks to the Shoplet Blog for this post idea! |
