It’s October in Minnesota, and you know what that means, it’s only going to get colder and colder for the next few months.  We have sub-zero temperatures and abundant snowfall to look forward too.  I’m not sure many people look forward to that though.  Here in the office there are a few people that try their hardest to forget about these upcoming cold days and concentrate on staying warm.

It’s Fire Prevention Week!  Fire departments across the country are visiting schools and holding open houses to teach fire safety and stressing the importance of having and practicing an escape plan. 

In addition to safety and escape plans, this week brings the importance of fire protection equipment to the minds of many.  Checking the batteries in fire alarms, making sure that fire extinguishers are full, and making sure that sprinkler systems work are things that are done around this time to make sure that individuals as well as businesses are prepared in case they ever experience a fire.
