Usually when I’m trying to decide what to cook for dinner, I just settle on whatever recipe I can find fastest.  One way to get all of your recipes in one place, and organize them is by using index cards. 

Index cards are usually a little thicker than regular paper, and smaller in size which makes them the perfect medium for storing and recording different dinner recipes.  They are available in different colors, which can also help you use some different organization techniques.  Most can be written on, and some can even be used in inkjet and laser printers.

By using a system that works for you when storing index cards, such as by name, main ingredient, type of cuisine or any other characteristic you can easily determine what you’d like to cook.  For example, if you have your cards sorted by type of meal, and you feel like you're in the mood for Mexican food, all you have to do is open your index card file to the Mexican food section and pull out which meal you’d like.

A recipe collection can be one of the most useful possessions you have, and by keeping it organized you can continue to build it into an extremely diverse selection of dishes, while still being able to easily find meals you're hungry for.

I recently came across this website, the office supplies comic strip, which is created and maintained by Lola Akinmade.  She uses office supplies as characters to make hilarious commentaries on everyday events in the workplace.

I especially liked the one called “Flat Screen Harassment.”  It depicts a keyboard and a flat screen monitor and the keyboard makes a comment about how skinny the monitors are getting these days.  The monitor then accuses the keyboard of sexual harassment.

There is an army of helmeted markers, memo reading computer diskettes and an obituary for a stapler.  It makes for a very funny read, and I recommend it for anyone looking for something a little different.
