Forget what you think you know about paper shredders. German company, Dahle, has created a shredder that makes all others look weak in comparison. It is called the Disintegrator, and for good reason. Not only does the Disintegrator shred the standard fare, paper, staples, paper clips and credit cards, but it also has a separate compartment to shred tapes, cds, ID badges and even VHS tapes. We joke around the office that you could shred your documents in an office shredder and then shred the shredder in the disintegrator. The powerful, internal 3 Hp motor destroys just about any material it comes across, and shreds down to extremely tiny 1.5mm x 2.5mm cross cut particles. This meets the NSA/CSS 02-02 guidelines, which is the highest level of security for paper shredders. Because of the sheer power of this impressive piece of machinery, you would think the actual unit would be the size of a tank, but in fact although it weighs 875 pounds, it is small enough to fit through a standard sized doorway and has swiveling casters making it surprisingly mobile. Not only that, but it is quiet enough to be used in a standard office environment, emitting only around 75db. Dahle shredders are some of the industry's nicest shredders and are favored by many government agencies and other companies who require an extremely high level of security.
