It's Tax Time, My 37th Favorite Time of Year PDF Print E-mail
Written by BBertsinger

After speaking with my wife about taxes for the year (we were married and had our first child), I decided to take a look at the products we carry to make tax time easier.  I was amazed at the plethora of forms by Tops Office Products, record keeping books by Dome Publishing, and the number of Wilson Jones Ledger Sheets we carry.  Clearly I am behind the norm on what I keep track of in terms of taxes.

For better payroll recordkeeping, it's recommended that businesses use time clocks that automatically integrate with Quickbooks, Paychex, and ADP.  Clocks that use swipe cards or a fingerprint reader are an easy option for tracking and calculating employee payroll.

Take a moment to check out BuyOnlineNow.com for all your 1099, W-2, and Tax Envelope needs; I'm sure it will be more exciting than actually doing your taxes.

Good point about integrating payroll/timekeeping software (such as Kronos) with tax record keeping. For office environments where everyone has a workstation, simply logging in and out with a pin is pretty common but doesn't double as an access control method.

The swipe cards are still very popular given their low cost, but many companies are turning to more sophisticated biometrics (like the fingerprint recognition you mentioned). The iris scanning will no doubt follow since it prevents buddy swiping even more effectively than fingerprint recognition does.
