The ground has finally consumed the last of the snow banks, birds are chirping as you awake in the morning, the winter coats have been retired until October, and everyone is thinking the same thoughts, “Spring has arrived and it’s so nice outside, why am I here, indoors, parked at my desk, creating graphs and flow charts?”

Yes, spring has arrived here in Minnesota.  The motorcycles are roaring, the burgers on the grill are creating a magnificent aroma in the evening air, and the warm temperatures seem to pull at you to depart from your worn office chair twenty or thirty minutes before five o’ clock to take advantage of the “new life” that April brings to us.  I first felt it two weeks ago.  “Maybe I can sneak out of here 20 minutes early, nobody will care, I’ll just come in early tomorrow morning, it’s so nice outside... why can’t it just be five o’ clock!”   I worked until 5 and took advantage of the nice weather by playing basketball until the sun had fallen behind the horizon.
