Using a Paper Shredder to Prevent Identity Theft |

 Identity theft is becoming more and more common, and a good way to help prevent it from happening to you is by using a paper shredder to destroy any sensitive documents instead of throwing them in the trash. There are paper shredders on the market to fit into any budget so it has never been easier to protect yourself from this increasingly disturbing crime trend.
Identity theft happens when someone gains access to your bank account number, credit card number, social security number, etc. and basically pretends they are you to steal some or all of your assets. With the many different techniques criminals are using to do this, it can be a very difficult scenario to avoid. By disposing of any sensitive documents in a good quality paper shredder, you will be taking a giant step in the right direction. There are many different types of paper shredders available, in many different sizes and styles, but I recommend using at least a cross-cut shredder. However ideally, a micro cut paper shredder will offer the highest level of security.
